Configuring Access to External Services

Though QlikMaps can work without access to the internet, certain features require the QlikMaps Client to have access to specific external servers. (The QlikView server does not need access external servers.) If a firewall prevents acces to certain external servers, certain features will not be available.

This is rarely an issue but will present itself most often when development is done on a server. The QlikView Desktop client instantiates whatever version of Internet Explorer (IE) is installed on the machine when going to “WebView” on the Desktop Client. Since IE “Protected Mode” is typically enabled in server environments, IE prohibits outbound communication to external servers, thus rendering certain QlikMaps features unavailable since it cannot reach the required servers.

Whitelisting the following services will allow all features in QlikMaps.
