Installing for Qlik Sense Desktop Client - Manual Method

Download the .ZIP files from the download site

Obtain the login credentials for the download site from your Analytics8 Sales Executive or Analytics8 Reseller Partner.

Unpack each .ZIP file

Unpack each .ZIP file to:

  • C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions

Verify directory structure

When verifying the directory structure, make sure that files, not another QlikMaps folder, are found directly inside QlikMaps folder.

NOTE: Due to the way that certain zipping programs unzip files, you may have an extra level of folders inside the following directories. To resolve this, copy the innermost folder and past to the C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions directory.

  • CORRECT - C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions\QlikMaps
  • INCORRECT - C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions\QlikMaps\Qlikmaps

Clear Cache - Only if upgrading

Sometimes Sense will cache the QlikMaps extension. This will result in QlikMaps using the old version of QlikMaps instead of the new one. This will eventually work itself out, but, to quicken the process, do the following:

1. Open the Qlik Sense Hub

2. Hold Control + Shift, and right-click on an empty area

3. Click “Show DevTools”

4. On the new window that opens, click the gear icon on the top right

5. On the popup that opens on top of that window, check the box “Disable cache (while DevTools is open)”

6. Close the popup using the button in the top right

7. Hit the F5 button to refresh

8. You can go back to the Hub and work as normal
