We put a lot of time into building and testing QlikMaps. That said, our users are constantly finding new ways to use Qlikmaps and the upcoming release would benefit from some limited real world experience before it's made public. That's where you come in. As a member of the QlikMaps Beta Program you will test-drive cutting edge mapping technologies first. Along the way, you'll run into a few bumps in the road. How do I participate?
As a member of the beta program, you'll be given access to a Beta Members Only area on the download site where 30 day trial versions of the software are available. Any issues you find can be sent directly to the QlikMaps Beta Support team at support.analytics8.com and tagged as Beta. Finally, you'll be given access to a Slack channel. The Slack channel will provide a quick way to reach out to others in the beta community and keep up with a list of Known Bugs. Ready to get started? Email [email protected] for consideration. What is the QlikMaps Beta Software Program?
The QlikMaps Beta Software Program let's (*not sure if that is with an apostrophe or not) users try out software before it's released to the general user base. The feedback you provide helps us identify issues and fix them so that QlikMaps is the best it can be.
Where should I install QlikMaps Beta Software?
Like any other beta software, QlikMaps Beta Software should not be installed on a production environment. Instead, back up a development environment for testing. Backing up and installing QlikMaps is as easy as moving the QlikMaps folders into the extension folder and replacing them with the beta versions. We also recommend backing up any QlikView or Qlik Sense applications you are planning on testing with.
How do I provide feedback to QlikMaps?
Any issues can be submitted at support.analytics8.com. General questions and keeping track of known bugs will happen through the QM Beta Slack Channel.
Do I have to pay a fee to join the Beta Program?
No. Both the program and trial beta software are free.
Is the public beta software confidential?
Yes, the beta software is QlikMaps confidential information. Don’t install the beta software on any systems you don't directly control or that you share with others. Don’t blog, post screen shots, tweet, or publicly post information about the beta software, and don't discuss the beta software with or demonstrate it to others who are not in the QlikMaps Beta Software Program. If QlikMaps has publicly disclosed technical information about the beta software, it is no longer considered confidential.
