Using the QlikView Desktop Client and QlikView Server on the same machine
QlikView can often get “confused” when extensions are installed multiple times on the same machine, thus causing all extensions to work improperly. Typically this situation occurs when QlikView developers want to use the QlikView Desktop client on the same machine as the QlikView Server.
NOTE: This article should not be used if QlikView 12 is installed. QlikView 12 (as of the GA release) does not acknowledge the request to use the server extension folder.
Remove the QlikView Desktop Client Extension directories
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
Delete the following directories:
• C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikView\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points
• C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikView\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points_and_Polygons
• C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points_Polygons
For Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008
Delete the following directories:
• C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points
• C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points_and_Polygons
• C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikMaps_For_Google_Points_Polygons
Open QlikView Desktop Client registry settings
• In the QlikView Desktop Client, go to Help -> About QlikView
• Right-click on the QlikView logo in the bottom-left corner
Enable UseServerFolders for Extensions
• Scroll to “ExtensionUseServerFolder”
• Type “1” in the “Value” field
• Press the "Set" button
